Terms of use

Product Feed for Google · Draft of 6 October 2026

In short

  • Product Feed for Google publishes your practice's product catalogue to Google Merchant Center. Each night it reads your products from Acuitas, converts them into the format Google expects, and publishes them at a private web address that Google collects from on its own schedule. It never changes your product records.
  • It costs €5 per practice location per month, excluding VAT, added to your Acuitas bill. Charging starts in the month your products are first published in a live feed, not when you install the plugin or while you're still setting it up. Months aren't split: a location live for part of a month is charged for that month.
  • These terms cover one practice location. Each location in a group installs the plugin, accepts these terms and is charged separately.
  • You need your own Google Merchant Center account and your own verified website domain. We don't control whether Google accepts, shows or rejects your products.
  • We read products, prices, availability, images and your practice's own location record. We don't read patient, appointment, prescription, clinical, insurance, sales or diary data.
  • You're responsible for what you advertise, including compliance with the law and Google's policies on eyewear, contact lenses and prescription products.
  • You can disconnect Google at any time from the plugin. Your last published feed stays where it is, nothing new is published, and charging stops from the following month.

These terms are between Ocuco Limited ("Ocuco", "we") and the practice accepting them, and apply to the practice's use of the Product Feed for Google plugin and the service behind it. They are in addition to the practice's Acuitas subscription agreement.

1. What the service does

1.1 The service reads the practice's product catalogue from Acuitas, converts it into Google Merchant Center's product feed format, validates it, and publishes it at a web address Google collects from on a schedule Google controls. It registers that address with the practice's own Merchant Center account.

1.2 The service refreshes the feed at least daily. It reports, in the plugin, what was published, what was excluded and why.

1.3 The service doesn't modify any record in Acuitas. Its access to Acuitas is read-only, apart from its own plugin settings.

1.4 Each installation covers one practice location.

2. What the service doesn't do

2.1 It doesn't decide whether Google displays the practice's products. Approval, disapproval, ranking, delisting and account standing are decisions Google makes, under policies Google sets and changes.

2.2 It doesn't advertise on the practice's behalf, place bids, or manage Google Ads campaigns.

2.3 It doesn't host the practice's website or product pages. Google requires product links to be on the practice's own verified domain.

2.4 It doesn't write, correct or enrich product information. Where a product is incomplete or doesn't meet Google's requirements, the service reports it, and the fix is made in Acuitas.

3. What the practice needs

3.1 An active Acuitas subscription with the eCommerce product catalogue in use.

3.2 Its own Google Merchant Center account.

3.3 Its own website domain, verified to that Merchant Center account. Google requires product landing pages on the verified domain, so this can't be substituted.

4. Charges

4.1 €5 per practice location per month, excluding VAT and any other applicable tax, added to the practice's Acuitas invoice.

4.2 A location is charged for a calendar month if its feed was live and being published at any point during that month. A location with no live feed isn't charged, and the reason is recorded and visible in the plugin.

4.3 There is no pro-rating. A location live for part of a month is charged for the whole month, whether it went live on the 1st or the 28th, and whether it stopped on the 3rd or the 31st.

4.4 The price is recorded at the moment of acceptance. A price change doesn't apply to an existing acceptance; it takes effect only when a new version of these terms is accepted (clause 5.3).

4.5 Where the available facts don't clearly establish that a location is chargeable, it isn't charged. This is deliberate and works only in the practice's favour.

5. Acceptance and changes

5.1 These terms are accepted in the plugin by a named Acuitas user of the practice, who confirms they are accepting on the practice's behalf.

5.2 Acceptance records the version accepted, the time, the Acuitas user who accepted, and the price in force.

5.3 Ocuco may publish a new version of these terms. When it does, the practice's existing feed keeps running unchanged, and configuration becomes read-only in the plugin until the new version is accepted.

6. The practice's product data and responsibilities

6.1 The practice is responsible for the accuracy, completeness and lawfulness of the product information held in Acuitas and therefore published in the feed, including prices, availability, descriptions and images.

6.2 The practice is responsible for the standing of its own Merchant Center account and for keeping its domain verification valid.

6.3 The practice is responsible for complying with Google's policies, including its policies on healthcare and medical devices, in each country it chooses to target.

7. Regulated products

7.1 Spectacles, sunglasses, contact lenses and prescription eyewear are regulated differently across Ireland, the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States, and rules can differ between product types within a single catalogue.

7.2 The practice decides what to advertise and in which markets, and is responsible for the lawfulness of doing so.

7.3 To be confirmed before general availability.

8. Data

8.1 The service processes the practice's product catalogue and commercial reference data: products, prices, availability, images, promotions, the practice's own location record (name, address, country, currency, website), and site and country lookups.

8.2 It doesn't process patient, appointment, prescription, clinical, insurance, sales or diary data. No part of the service reads that data, and the credentials it is issued are requested without access to it.

8.3 The personal data the service holds in the ordinary course is business-contact and staff-identity data: the Acuitas user who accepted these terms, and operator contact details for alerts.

8.4 Product data is processed and stored in Microsoft Azure in Sweden, in the European Union. It is transmitted to Google when Google collects the feed, and to Google's Merchant API when the feed is registered.

8.5 The published feed is at an unguessable address containing a secret token, and isn't listed or linked anywhere. It carries only product information the practice already publishes on its own website. It isn't protected by a login, because Google's feed collection doesn't support one.

8.6 How personal data is handled is described in the privacy policy. Data protection terms between Ocuco and the practice are to be confirmed before general availability.

9. Availability

9.1 The service is provided without an uptime commitment and without service credits.

9.2 A missed daily refresh doesn't by itself remove the practice's products from Google: Merchant Center keeps products for a period after their last refresh, and the previously published feed stays available for collection.

9.3 Where Google or Acuitas is unavailable, or Google changes its requirements, the service keeps serving the last successfully published feed and reports the condition in the plugin.

10. Stopping

10.1 The practice may disconnect Google at any time from the plugin. On disconnect, no further feed is published. The last published feed stays at its address, and Google may keep collecting it until the practice removes the data source in its own Merchant Center account. Charging stops from the following month.

10.2 Pausing a feed without disconnecting, and changing a feed's address once Google has registered it, are done by Ocuco support on request.

10.3 Termination, notice and data deletion: to be confirmed before general availability.

11. Liability

To be confirmed before general availability.

12. General

Governing law, jurisdiction, assignment, notices and severability: to be confirmed before general availability.
